Let’s Not Limit Devi

"This navmi let us pray that
No Durga is aborted,
No Saraswati is stopped from going to school,
No Lakshmi has to beg for money from her husband,
No Parvati is sacrificed for dowry
and
No Kali is given a tube of fairness cream!!!"

My response to this forward is given below.

"This Navarathri, as we worship Devi who rid the world of Asuras, let's pray.

May no BABY be aborted in this sacred land of ours.

We, especially the educated women folk of new India KNOW very well, that second or third babies are aborted in many homes.

Why? Isn't shishu hatya a grave sin? We don't question the I pill advertisers either. We can be safe than be sorry isn't it? Or, if an "out of syllabus"  baby happens despite care, think of him/her as Durga's gift and HAVE  it!

Repeat after me, No Krishna, no Durga should be aborted.

No Brahma and no Saraswathy should be stopped from going to school either.

Haven't you ever accepted the table cleaning services of young boys all over India? What about the young boy children who work in shops?  Ever wondered about their childhood or lack of it? They are in the millions, you just need to see them.

No Lakshmi should have to beg for money and no Narayana should have to work his bones off for a family that only wants his money either.

Haven't you seen a single man who spent the best years of his life educating his younger siblings? These men get married, when they are in their thirties or forties. Let's spare a thought for them too.

No Parvathi should be sacrificed for dowry. We women can cut wedding costs too, especially on sarees and gifts and save that money instead.

No Parameswara should have to lose his fatherly rights because of false dowry case either!

On fairness creams, I am glad someone mentioned this. But…why are we forgetting the fact that popular figures sell fairness creams to Kali AND her brother Krishna?

Finally, Devi, as Paramatma, is all encompassing. Let's NOT limit her to only 50%of the population.

Om Sri Matre namaha.

Loka samasta sukhino bhavanthu.

P.S.

It’s very clear that, everytime we celebrate a major festival , we find articles and forwards that  guilt –trip us. Now we can expect subtle messages on Diwali as the festival is near.
Whether all those who post such content mean to make us cringe/hate our tradition is another matter . Some of them may be just going with the flow. The fact is that , in the process, enough damage is done to the psyche of a dharmik person.
Educated urbanites, despite their many material successes are a highly confused lot when it comes to their tradition.
I am just trying to show that, as educated people, we have a moral duty to analyse all possible angles of any serious issue.
Thank you.
