Up Again Now

I looked at your face and saw a friend.
I opened my arms and smiled
like a child.

You looked at a clueless me and
saw a threat.
You returned the handshake
with one hand behind
your back.

I shared a favorite sweet with
you and smiled at your smile.
At times I shared a sudden
rainbow that caught my attention too .

You shared some with me every now and then
all the while with your anger well hidden.

I jumped and laughed like a child ,ever happy in your company
while you grew more and more pensive.
I realised after a long time that
you weren't who you seemed to be

I stopped being a child and really started to see who you were all along.

He didn't die of stab wounds ,did he?
It was never the dagger, it was
who did it, that did him in.

You, friend ,are one of my greatest teachers .
For that, I will always be grateful.

You showed me my own strength.
I fell down hard but I rose up too, which you didn't count on.

That wasn't in the plan
That wasn't in the human plan

But I am here now, as I am no orphan-child.
I am no mother-less child, my
once- friend.
I met my mother and her name is Dwarka mai.

Thank you for leading me to her.
You took the left- most route but
the outcome is still here.
