The Blue Gem and His Adoring Aththai

 


We all got the good news this morning.

My brother and beloved sister-in- law have waited for so long and their reward arrived last night !

It had poured last night but this morning everything seems new. 

 This Gopi wants to see the dear faces of that fortunate mother and the baby.

I walk in to my brother's home with cooked food . His face is shining with a light I have never seen before.

He smiles and points to the direction of the room his loved ones are in .

I ask him about food and he says he doesn't need any just now. 

I can understand. I have been here too.

I softly walk and open the door hoping it won't wake the baby.

But he is awake and he ...wait ,do newborns smile ? What kind of sorcery is this?

I don't know. I am a mother of four but who could this be O Narayana ?

And ,what's happening to my little heart ?

It is filling and filling and filling with Ananda , so this must be Ananda!

After Yashoda had taken some food and just as I am leaving ...no, am not imagining this but I distinctly hear a  little voice calling me Aththai ! 

 (Father's sister in Tamizh). 

I hear a giggle too !

Now I am sure this village of mine is going to witness wonders that mankind has never even heard of any time !The Devas will be jealous of us all very soon !

What's more, any one from any village, any era, can come here in mind and enjoy this bliss!

Some payasam is still left in the pot I brought .Dear reader ,please help yourself to some !

Ma Sri Lakshmi took the form of a vanvasi girl belonging to the Chenchu tribe in AP and pacified his anger.  He took a Shanta swarupa and has been gracing his devotees in the form of Mohana Narasimha ever since.  I took the liberty to imagine the following conversation between the divine couple.  " Devi, you seem to be in deep thought. Prakriti and Eternal Balance

Modern women and men are bombarded every day with subtle / unsubtle messages about why women are special and why they need to treated in a special way. It’s true that women are indeed special but not for the reasons the liberals of this world list out. “You can do anything a man can do!” is the constant mantra that’s being thrown at women all the time. Let’s face it.  This isn’t true .  Men and women have different skillsets for the reason that they are meant to complement each other. Any person with real leadership skills can tell you that great teams are built with people having diverse skillsets. Efficient, nurturing preschool teachers are mostly women. They may be grossly under paid, but are we going to demean their great service to humanity? Hard working workers of emergency/rescue services/city cleaning services are mostly men. Their service to humanity goes unsung. Where would our modern homes be without the work skills of ordinary plumbers? Ex
