Prakriti and Eternal Balance
Modern women and men are bombarded every day with subtle / unsubtle messages about why women are special and why they need to treated in a special way.
It’s true that women are indeed special but not for the reasons
the liberals of this world list out.
“You
can do anything a man can do!” is the constant mantra that’s being thrown at
women all the time.
Let’s
face it.
This isn’t true.
Men
and women have different skillsets for the reason that they are meant to
complement each other. Any person with real leadership skills can
tell you that great teams are built with people having diverse skillsets.
Efficient,
nurturing preschool teachers are mostly women. They may be grossly under paid, but
are we going to demean their great service to humanity?
Hard
working workers of emergency/rescue services/city cleaning services are mostly
men. Their service to humanity goes unsung. Where would our modern homes be
without the work skills of ordinary plumbers?
Exceptions
may be there in both cases but we are concerned with general trends that have immense
power to affect our lives.
Try
to imagine the Yin/Yang symbol. A little bit of black adorns the white part and
a little bit of white adorns the black part!
A
good leader/manager identifies the different talents of his individual team
members and assigns responsibility to each, to get the results he wants.
As thinking individuals we may appreciate the way nature operates if only we take
the time to understand her.
Women, bring to the table of life some unique skill sets as do men. As A and A’, men and women make a whole set .
Both
superiority complex and inferiority complex are complexes at the end of
the day that a balanced individual should avoid.
The
world may swing in a certain way like crazy and it may seem cool to swing
along. But, at the end of the day, nature teaches us that both stri
shakthi and purusha shakthi make this world whole.
We
are told that we should teach our sons to respect women. While we accept that, we want to stress that the
advice would be grossly incomplete if we don’t teach all our children to
respect all people.
Absolutely; feminist have taken it so far as to think women are superior, but women tend to be better at taking care of others (take nursing for example) and men tend to be better at protection (take soldiers for example) and more physically demanding jobs such as masonry. However, either can take up any role. For example women can make great physicall demanding jobs like warriors (policemen / firefighters / spys / soldiers etc.) and men can make great non physicall demanding jobs (cooks / fashion designers / etc.). Some of the best leaders are women in my opinion, because they do not lead by aggression and force, but by compassion and understanding :D
ReplyDeleteIn fact, any role is best be done in a gentle and feminine on the outside, so we have a lot to learn from women :D
Beautifully put. Couldn't have said it better myself.
ReplyDeleteAlso thank you for pointing out the service of nurses. I missed that very important thing in my post.
Have come across compassionate male nurses but surely they are operating through whats essentially a feminine energy.
Just as warrior queens fight wars while channeling their inner masculine.
Exceptions are there on both sides but we can't deny or distort nature if we want to help ourselves.
As for women leaders, yes, the ones I am familiar with have taken some decisions atleast through their compassion. But have gone back to aggression to retain power. That happens as they deny who they should be as ordained by nature I guess.
Also, the fundamental thing is the feminine has to be a mother energy I feel.
Devi/ divine feminine in Sanskrit is praised as Jagan Matha ( mother of the universe) first.
The Lord is praised as many things but not addressed as Jagat Pitha/ father of the universe very often.
SHE specializes as the parent energy I guess.:-))
All unconditional love , hence creation was possible in the first place.
Remove motherhood from.the equation ,feminine becomes a kind of stunted ,negative energy in my humble opinion.
